Stress in our bodies can make it hard to stay open and honest…

When you want more connection and pleasure, but having it feels complicated, that doesn’t mean anyone or anything is broken.

Moving through this world, our bodies learn it’s unsafe to let our guards down. Unsafe to want what we want. Unsafe to ask for what we really need.

That’s why we tense up when touched, shut down when it’s time to open up, or turn to coping strategies that leave us feeling numb.

Insight alone isn’t enough to create change…

This work makes it easier.

I’m Rachel Levinson. I’m a Relationship and Sex Therapist.

We need healing that engages all parts of us.

I work with people who've built full lives and partnerships, where sex has become a point of tension and stress.  My approach engages your whole system — your body’s wisdom and the inner parts of you that want different things or hold different answers.

Through a tailored blend of evidence-based practices, we untangle what feels complicated, update your nervous system, and get creative to find what works for your relationship and your life.

My approach is built on nearly two decades of experience, training, and certifications

I’m certified in EMDR

A science-backed therapy for releasing any past experiences from the body that cause you to tense up or check out when you’d rather relax and tune in

I’m trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level 2 and Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO),

Modalities that help you more clearly understand and communicate your inner world with compassion — which is often exactly what our nervous systems need to settle.

I’m an AASECT-certified Sex Therapist

Which means I have specialized knowledge of sexual health and tools to help you explore desires, clear blocks, and create new possibilities for pleasure, trust, and connection.

I have a BA in Psychology with an emphasis in Gender Studies.

I understand how power dynamics and gender roles can muddle our self-concept, and can help you untangle what is true for you from all the “shoulds”

I have my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy

From the California School of Professional Psychology, and am working toward my PhD in Clinical Sexology from the Modern Sex Therapy Institute, a specialized program run by today's top sex therapists.

Nearly two decades of experience

have taught me how to sit with complexity, tend to the nervous system with care, and listen for what’s trying to emerge beneath the patterns.

Early in my career, I worked extensively with survivors

of sexual assault, domestic violence, and sex trafficking as part of my hours required for licensure, gaining hands-on experience in trauma-informed care, nervous system regulation, and helping clients rebuild trust in themselves after overwhelming experiences.

My work is trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, kink & CNM aware.

I care deeply about creating a space where you are met with compassion and curiosity so real change can take root. I’m not here to push you into anything that you’re not interested in, only to unpack whatever comes up.

Together we’ll find out what you need to move towards a life where you don’t have to secretly wonder “What if?”

Real change happens when we let ourselves slow down and feel…

My interest in this work began in undergrad gender studies.

Learning about power dynamics, I saw why so many of us carry wounds around sexuality and gender. Wounds that can make it difficult to experience connection and pleasure without pain or anxiety, as our whole selves.

I’ve been connecting the dots between gender, sex, and nervous system issues ever since.

When it hasn’t always been safe to hold our boundaries, express our feelings, or ask for what we want, we learn to shut down our true needs and just push through with whatever is expected of us. That can take us to a point where we have the career, the house, and the family, but we struggle to enjoy it.

Eventually, our feelings become impossible to ignore. There’s a reason we can’t “just stop feeling this way:”

MY STORY

⚘ More authentic, open, and vulnerable relationships

⚘ Boundaries that support us to relax and be present

⚘ Freedom from other peoples’ beliefs and expectations

⚘ Courage to ask for and get more of what we want

This work helps us listen. And when we do, we make way for:

Our feelings are messengers.

Maybe because I grew up in Hawaii, it’s where I feel most connected to myself and what matters to me — open, free, and centered. Beach walks may not change everything, but they always nudge me in the right direction.

How I stay grounded...

I love watching the sunset, painting, hiking, live theatre, classic VW's, and adding music (usually classic rock) to nearly any environment. I’m also most likely to suggest sushi. Every. Dang. Time.

BEYOND THE THERAPY ROOM

Hot yoga, Orange Theory, and running are my go-tos. If it requires deep breathing to keep up, I’m there. It completely changes my nervous system, leaving me regulated.

I’m a former roller derby skater. Those days were exhilarating, but now I’m just so grateful I get to throw on some skates and play.

The ocean.

Ritual, creativity, and laughter.

High-intensity movement

Gliding on my roller-skates.
